Haute Couture Week 2025

Haute Couture Week— let’s talk about it.

What you need to know:

Haute Couture, meaning “high sewing” in French, is the highest level of fashion— one-of-a-kind pieces created by top designers. Haute Couture Week is where these designs are showcased— always twice a year and always in Paris.

Who does this & why is it different from other fashion weeks:

Think Schiaparelli, Valentino, Dior, etc. Everything is entirely made by hand, and is essentially wearable art that reflects cultural movements, historical influences, and is inherently woven into pop culture.

Now, how this effects you:

Let’s bring it back to The Devil Wears Prada. Again. Remember Miranda Priestly’s monologue about Andy’s cerulean sweater? Again? We’re getting back into it.

The designs showcased during Couture Week set the stage for fashion trends that inevitably trickle down into ready-to-wear collections and mainstream brands. The colors, the silhouettes, the details — all of these almost always appear in stores months later. Keep hanging with me.

It goes without saying that the pieces on the runway are created with the highest level of craftsmanship and are undeniably works of art. But if you take anything away, let it be this:

Haute Couture Week isn’t just for celebrities or those that work in the industry—it’s a reminder that fashion is an art form, not just something we wear. It’s about creativity and craftsmanship and self-expression. It inspires the way we put outfits together.

It brings back something I feel is often lost in our every day—storytelling.

Something that we can create every day through what we wear. Even without owning any of these pieces, you have the power to create your very own art every single day. Let your wardrobe express who you are, how you feel, and the story you want to tell the world.
